10 Years is
a long time in the music business and a benchmark that few artists are ever
successful enough to achieve but for Andy Perring aka Pulser it has
flown by without a second thought.
With close to 100 commercially released productions and remixes under his belt
emanating from his 8 iconic aliases Pulser, Insigma (with
Thrillseekers), Basstarts (with Lange) Olmec Heads, Trinity
Project, Ija, Haylon and more... and being a renowned, globetrotting
DJ he's not even stopping for breakfast.
After a very successful spell with Dutch trance masters Armada,
delivering 3 huge singles (My Religion, Point Of Impact & Square One)
he now comes home to an even bigger UK label by signing his new, self-vocalled
single 'Things You Say' to Maelstrom Records (the home of Marco
V, Judge Jules, Cosmic Gate and Dogzilla to name but a few) His debut
artist album 'Singularity' is nearing completion and a 'best of' mix
album to celebrate this special 10 year anniversary is set for
release later this year.
Not content with just sitting in the studio Pulser quickly established himself
as a world class DJ. You think of a club or major event and chances are he's
been there, done that and bought the t-shirt (several actually). Headlining
events around the globe at Superclubs from Godskitchen (UK), Gatecrasher
(UK), Zouk (Malaysia), Gaudi Arena (Moscow), Spundae (LA),
Fabrik (Madrid), Yes Club (China), GAS (Sydney) and
guesting on several stadium sized world tour and festival dates for Godskitchen,
Ministry Of Sound and Ibiza's legendary Amnesia. He can regularly
be found heading the line-up in the world’s major cities.
His DJ style has evolved the same way as his productions; gone is the fluffy
cheese of his debut year 2000 anthem 'Cloudwalking', giving way to a
more honed, harder, electro-tinged, intelligent and progressive type of Trance.
A DJ that loves to play new music, Pulser is always supporting new tracks from
up and coming artists and frequently chooses the new breed over established
names to remix his own tracks, helping to promote them and keep the scene
fresh.
To go back and fully analyse 10 years of productions and touring for someone so
prolific would keep you reading for weeks but here's some of the many
highlights so far:
Olmec Heads - Spiritualised 13 weeks consecutive plays on Radio 1 (Pete
Tong & Judge Jules Shows) one of 'the' Anthems of 1999 with Pete Tong
giving it a special mention in his Millennium Eve show.
Cloudwalking - A Tiesto baptised Trance anthem as big as they
come and re-released on 3 separate occasions due to public demand.
My Religion - a tune so massive, not only was it one of the first
releases chosen by Armin Van Buurens for his ' A State Of Trance' imprint
but also UK Superclub Godskitchen used it as The theme tune to
Global Gathering (One of the worlds biggest dance festivals).
Insigma - Open Our Eye's a true 'Oakenfold and Tiesto' classic
co-written with long-time friend Steve Helstrip better known the world over as
The Thrillseekers.
Jose Amnesia - The Eternal (Pulser Remix) a much fan-charted classic
remix in Trance.
Atacama/Summer In Space a PVD caned co-write with UK legend and
best mate Lange.. The list goes on and on!
Futuregod
– A debutant at
Godskitchen’s first Futuregods night Pulser stole the show, winning over the
Godskitchen crowd and securing a headline slot and many main room sets.
Sell out at
the worlds biggest club – Fabrik Madrid – After securing a healthy
following in several Spanish clubs Pulser was booked to headline the 12000
capacity Fabrik. The event sold out matched only by Tiesto’s appearance a few
months earlier.
Bacardi/Ministry
Of Sound World Tour – Pulser played to a capacity 20,000 crowd alongside Armin
Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Marco V and Paul Van Dyk and broadcast live across
Europe on MTV.
Performed a legendary set at WEMF Toronto – On his debut WEMF performance Pulser’s dawn,
sunrise set is still talked about as one of the best ever…
With over 4 million compilations sold featuring one or usually more of Andy
Perrings' productions and remixes, a debut entry in the DJ magazine poll at No
111, clocking up half a million air miles travelling to DJ at clubs around the
globe and being one of the nicest, most down to earth guys you'll ever meet,
maybe you'll remember his name now! ...
It's Pulser ...that’s Pulser with an 'E'!
